Woollahra Council – Christison Park 107KL Tank and Soakage Drainage Works
In 2024 Woollahra Council sought to construct the 107KL balance tank for stormwater harvesting purposes at Christison Park, Vaucluse. An existing stormwater harvesting system was designed and constructed in 2015 however the provisional item of the 107KL additional storage tank was not constructed and the existing 55KL tank was unable to complete a full irrigation cycle (120KL).
The oval was also experiencing substantial ponding and landslip issues and Council engaged Optimal to additionally provide a soakage drainage trench and additional drainage works at a landslip area that was able to re-use excess spoil generated by the tank construction. A balance pipe was constructed between the new and existing tanks to get the maximum recycled water use.
