Sutherland Shire Council Design and Construct GPT’s at Bundeena

Sutherland Shire Council wanted to treat a 7ha catchment at Bundeena, draining to the creek/wetland behind the town. Optimal Stormwater proposed a graduated trashrack for this site, based on the type of pollutants, their loading and the cleaning methods available. We also proposed that for the same money as a normal GPT, Council could also treat the main carpark that was discharging untreated straight onto Bundeena Beach. Optimal won the work, and designed & constructed a P0708 CDS unit for the 1ha carpark next to the jetty, and a very effective little trashrack for the larger 7ha catchment at the back of town. Within days of it being installed, people were lying on the new grass in the shade of the trees enjoying the beach….. without knowing they were only 1m from a GPT.
