North Sydney – Hayes Street GPT, Neutral Bay

In 2019 Optimal Stormwater won the detailed design of six Gross Pollutant Traps at various locations around North Sydney LGA. Optimal subsequently won the construction of a CDS 2018 at Hayes St, the first of six Gross Pollutant Trap. The scope of work for the GPT construction included service locating, temporary works, demolition & excavation for the CDS unit, liaison with Rocla to ensure smooth delivery, drainage installation, seawall remediation works, site reinstatement, preparation of Works-As-Executed drawings, Operation & Maintenance Manuals and formal hand-over to Council. Optimal Stormwater undertook additional flood modelling to gain a comprehensive understanding of the effects on the water flow due to the installation of the GPT. The design and subsequent construction were commended for being complete on time and within the budget given the complexity of the project with tidal groundwater, excavation full of construction waste and unknown services.
