Lane Cove Council – D&C of CDS unit at Canberra Rd

Optimal Stormwater was successful in winning a tender for the design and construction of a GPT for Lane Cove Council treating a section of the Pacific Highway at St Leonards and draining all the way to Gore Bay in the Harbour.

Optimal Stormwater was noted to have the most experience, and understanding of the stormwater design process, and what types of GPTs will work in any given circumstance. Given the steep grades and high velocities, a CDS unit was selected to make use of the kinetic energy in the moving water.

The design took 2 weeks, precasting 4 weeks, and installation took 3 weeks.

 

 

The solution proposed by Optimal Stormwater involved avoiding downstream complications, and diverting a small side line upstream of the treatment. This ability to think outside the box is one of Optimal’s key strengths.
