Ku-Ring-Gai Council – GPT and Creek Stabilization Design, St Ives
Optimal Stormwater were engaged by Ku-ring-gai Council to undertake the design of a GPT and creek stabilization. A GPT has been carefully selected based on the catchment features, target pollutants, hydraulic impacts and cost assessments. The proposed site is located at the western side of 1 Woodbury Road toward the stormwater outlet at the Creek. The existing trashrack was dysfunctional and ineffective and the existing wall and banks of the creek were suffering from erosion.
Optimal Stormwater designed and documented the works, including design of a new graduated offline trashrack suitable to the catchment size of 15.6 ha and captures the target pollutants (include sediment, gross pollution and nutrients). Rock walls are designed to stabilize the creek conditions, new pools and riffles created and adjacent landscape restoration.
